Join us for an immersive color experience in the Cyclades with Fiber Ambassador Lise Condis of TreLiz! Yarn. As we sail through our island adventure, she will teach us about color theory and finding the colors that bring you joy, create a knitalong project to help us explore color combinations, and help us to create our own mini skein colorways to bring home the palettes that we see on our voyage.
Our home on the Sea during our magical Greek adventure will be the Aegeotissa: The Lady
of the Aegean Sea. A 100 foot yacht, the Aegeotissa cuts effortlessly through the
glimmering surface of the cobalt Aegean waters. Our motorsailer abode offers the splendor
of three shaded decks, a sun deck, a bar and 12 double cabins.
Chauffeured by our Lady of the Aegean Sea, we will visit the coasts, towns and villages of the Greek Isles, focusing on Santorini, Naxos and Milos. Ios, Paros, Sifnos & Serifos are other possible islands we may visit. When we are not swimming or exploring in our picturesque surroundings, we will be knitting and exploring local crafts together.

Accommodation on the Aegeotissa requires going up and down ship ladders (very steep stairs), walking across a gang plank to get on and off the boat, and being able to keep your balance while we are underway.
This is a 100 ft yacht, not a cruise ship, so you will feel the movement of the boat.
Rowan Tree Travel does not take responsibility for injuries caused by mobility issues.
If you are unsure of whether you will be able to get around on the boat, please contact Heather at (603) 738-2009.
Electricity for CPAP machines cannot be guaranteed depending on the port we are in and the number of people needing access.
All three dates of this tour has been announced a "Go!"
Unless otherwise stated, our regular Terms and Conditions apply to this trip and for any cancellations (click here to see our Terms and Conditions).

Most known for the bizarre limestone rock formations that line the Sarakiniko Coast,
Milos has a lot to offer, including being the original home of the Venus de Milo. The
Sarakiniko Coast was formed from lava, which as it met the sea cooled into white
limestone, creating a multifaceted coastline with lots of places to swim and hike along it. Our day might start with a swim along this amazing coast, then explore the mysterious Catacombs on the other side of Milos and up to the town of Plaka where we can find something to eat and watch the sun go down before being transported back to the boat.
One of the more verdant islands in the Cyclades, Naxos has a thriving agricultural economy, which produces olive oil, citron, cheese, and... wool! Not the sort of wool we would want to knit with, mind, but suitable for weaving blankets. The mountain weaving villages predominantly produce cotton and silk fabrics for table runners and other homegoods, and many homes in these villages have a loom. We will also have a cooking class celebrating the local produce.
Ah, Santorini - famed for its whitewashed cycladic architecture perched on the
edge of an ancient caldera, it is definitely worth all of the fuss. When we arrive in Santorini, we will take a cable car to the top of the cliff, and walk along through the villages that line it from the main town of Fira to the north point of the caldera where the town of Oia, the sunset capital of the world, is perched. If you are feeling up for a longer walk, we can also visit a winery along the way. The next morning, you will have the option of having a relaxing morning in Fira, shopping and admiring the view, or an excursion to Akrotiri, the ruins of one of the towns that were buried thousands of years ago when the volcano exploded creating the caldera we see today.
Sifnos is known for it’s excellent food and pottery and mountainous landscape.
Ios is not just a party island, and its beaches are legendary...
Paros and Antiparos are lovely companions to Naxos
Folegandros is known for its untouched character and unique charm
These islands may be swim stops or overnight stops with excursions, depending on where the winds take us!
Depending on your travel dates, your trip may end in either Santorini or Athens
Heather loves designing and leading knitting and fiber tours. She’s fascinated with local traditions, unique yarns, and the modern twist added to both by current designers. Her ever-widening exposure to both has led to a long queue of patterns and a dramatic accumulation of stash! She’s also been trying her hand at new wooly endeavors like felting and spinning. When not knitting, traveling or planning your next trip, Heather spends time with her diva dog, her family, and friends in Dunbarton, NH.
Lise Condis is a mix of Greek, French and Syrian blood. Born in Switzerland and raised in Greece, she was from an early age influenced from different cultures, ideas and mentalities. Growing up, Lise would battle between Science and Arts as she wanted to become a veterinarian or a painter. Destiny, made her an Optometrist when she decided not to pursue an artistic career after passing the entry examinations of the Beaux Arts. However, when she learned how to knit and crochet she discovered a new fibery world, and more importantly, she came across after an head injury that she could dye and spin her own yarn. It was an epiphany, Science and Color made peace in her mind and TréLiz was born. Lise is interested in creating unique colorways, in a limited quantity.
She specializes in luxurious hand dyed yarns and fibers, and a few handknitted items. And now she is joining us to help you explore the wider world of fiber that inspires her yarns!
We design and facilitate small group tours rooted in an interest in craft, culture, unique environments and the friendships and memories that emerge from grand adventures. Since 2013, we have been, and continue to build, a network of devoted participants, friends, artisans and hosts that enrich every excursion.
